Of the nineteen gates in Marrakech, the “Gate of the Ram” is the mostly lavishly decorated. Built in the 12th century by the Almohads, it provides the main entrance to the Kasbah and it is very close to the Saadian tombs.
This suite opens onto the arched lounge on the first floor and its balcony and windows look over the central patio. The room still conserves the original beautiful, wooden, coffered ceiling, a four-poster bed and a Rajasthani-style tea corner. The bathroom is equipped with a traditional bath and the walls are coated by tadelakt. Guests can request a special relaxing bath with added essences. If requested, the suite can be made bigger by joining it to the arched lounge, thus keeping the level of privacy in this wing of the riad.
